My Avion C-11 was considered top of the line in the 1960s. I can't complain about the "type" of construction since it is still around almost 50 years later after being stored outside it's entire life.
During my rebuild, many of the installation defects were not visible during our decades of ownership. As I said earlier, the problems were with the installation of the materials, not the materials themselves. Avion used the best materials and appliances that were reasonably available at the time. It was the installation that was the issue. I'm sure that there are some decent TC manufacturers and all manufacturers will have some defects, but the amount of defects and lack of obvious quality control are not uncommon in many RVs, not just TCs.
