I believe the purpose of these forums is education, so I am interested in hearing all sides of the story. I agree with many of the points raised in the previous 4 pages of posts. Anybody going out to spend 25 to 40,000 on a RV ssurely wants to know as much as they can before purchasintg. I think we are all here to learn. My 2 cents.
I think it is OK to have an expectation that when purchasing an RV there is nothing missing, nothing broken. However, I agree with Boatycall that a purchaser should carefully check out what they plan to purchase and spend the requisite time looking at everything possible and asking lots of questions. Anybody that has spent an hour on virtually any RV forum will have come across the quality issue more than once in some form and that should be the first red flag that ignorance is not bliss in RV buying. Blaming the manufacturer is easy; blaming ourselves for not doing our due diligence is much harder. Complaining on a forum looking for sympathy and expecting to change an industry is peeing against the tide since for every OP that starts a thread about quality issues with a camper we can find a person like Woodglue that absolutely loves their new Lance, would not consider anything else, raves about the product, and has become almost a self appointed volunteer ambassador for Lance.
