Why are Truck Campers so poorly made?

I still find this discussion interesting, including the heat. Its true that quality of RVs in general and TCs in particular is often discussed. And its true that people can get a bit irritated. I have found the OP to make reasonable statements - though I believe its hard to engage the discussion if you do not know the name of the manufacturer. That is something that could change the tenor of the discussion. Or it might get the string hammered by Wayne. Don't know.
You may notice that one of the Avion owners, 69avion, found flaws in the workmanship of his TC - though he emphasizes that Avion used the best materials at the time. I read about his build and I can assure everyone that he flat knows what he's doing. I had a different experience with the build of my 67 Avion. Though the workmanship wasn't flawless - I found a whole section of the roof where screws had missed the ribbing. Must have been a bad Monday. But, overall I found first rate craftsmanship. In other words, reasonable people have different experiences. Luckily for me, we all were on the same page talking about a specific TC and the problems of restoration.
That's why I urge the OP to name the manufacturer. And as I said before, WE are quality control.
