My camper cost more than the maintenance free car that I drive back and forth to work everyday and will likely get 200,000 miles out of.
........and the car manufacturer sells a million maintenance free cars like yours each year while the TC industry as a whole (all manufacturers) are lucky to sell 9000 truck campers a year. There is economy of scale in manufacturing and a TC is not on the 'economic' end of that scale. RVIA provides the numbers of units sold by RV type. At the very bottom of units built and sold are truck campers. For every truck camper, about twenty travel trailers are sold...and we wonder why we can purchase a 30 foot slide out TT for under $30,000 while an 11 foot TC costs nearly $40,000 MSRP.
