My issue is I get really attached to my belongings, even campers and Trucks. And I really just want one Good Big lightweight camper that I don't have to Baby and fix leaks and rubber roofing and all that jaz, I want a TC that's built to last forever with maybe minimal caulking if any. Ive worked with all kinds of wood, wafer wood/ particle board/ Marine plywood and all that. And for me I know there is nothing that will out last aluminum. Its lighter and stronger and more forgiving. You could cut a hole in the roof and weld it back closed and make it permanent that will never leak. But Im sure The camper I end up with will never be as Beautiful as a lot of the pictures these other guys have posted. But I don't care. Im all about durability. So its just different strokes for different folks man. There is no wrong answer. Some of the places Ill be Going Ill almost need a armored truck and its going to get scratched by limbs, I cant have a nice pretty camper where I live and Go.
I think fiberglass will last just as long or maybe longer as aluminum, and can be fixed fairly easy also,
I would also suspect that Aluminum may get easily dented by hail or punctured by tree limbs.
Pricewise aluminum is probably more expensive and difficult to work with then Fglass,
I would only buy camper made of these materials,,,nothing else will last as long or be as strong imho.
