Why are Truck Campers so poorly made?

I don't believe shoddy construction is just with truck campers but the RV industry as a whole. Not every vendor builds******but there are enough that do. Like any major purchase you have to do your research, get educated and purchase what you believe is the best option for your situation. It doesn't matter if you are buying an RV, house or automobile. But even after " getting smart " this does not guarantee a trouble free purchase. That's where the selling dealer and manufacturers warranty take over. Take the time to gather opinions on the selling dealer and visit them several times. What does your gut tell you when you go there ? Having said all that my opinion may be worthless to new buyers as I have a 1968 Avion C11. This was built at a time where quality meant something. Is the Avion perfect ? Nope but it's pretty close. Not sure how many " modern " campers will be around in 40-50 years. Good luck to everyone with what they purchase.
