I decided to scrap the Amerigo. I really wanted to restore the Amerigo, but I have too many projects. I was okay with the work it needed, but it could get expensive and take a lot of time. It was so bad, just about all of the wood needed to be replaced.
I did not especially like the way the rear overhang was supported. If I remember correctly, it cantilevered (sp) at the top with a 2"x6" (maybe 2x8) on edge, on each side of the TC. The floor helped a little with two or four 2"x4"'s laid flat. When you consider a door on one side took away the wall support on that side, and the weight of the Snap-n-Nap, I saw a basic design flaw that needed changing to me.
I would have also needed to replace the fridge, and water heater. I don't know about the furnace. The fiberglass roof was full of pinholes, and required special attention. Is was simply going to be an expensive project.
