Kind of makes one think this whole thread was a troll...sucked a lot of us in...got everyone fired up...then the OP never discloses any information about his "purchase".
Too funny...
Oh well...it kept us entertained for a bit!
Actually, the moderator Wayne agreed with me that it's best not to reveal the name of the manufacturer because then it will just turn into bashing them.
I'm really not sure why you and others thing I was trolling. If you feel your intelligence has been insulted because you can't see anything wrong with TC quality issues, then that's your problem not mine.
FYI, it's wood frame with aluminum siding and rubber roof.
In this modern era, it seems like they can do a lot better and we can demand better for the prices we pay. However, I'm just as guilty of not demanding better quality. I did my homework and looked and looked at about half a dozen, and for the most part this camper seemed quite fine upon inspection with a great set of features and just the perfect size for a short box 1 ton. But there' s a lot of little things you can't notice until you live in it for several weeks.
Now I've actually got a problem with electrolysis on one of the aluminum panels. See here: http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27316577.cfm
You'd think that after years of making these things, the manufacturer would do everything possible to prevent such a process.
I don't expect any sympathy. I'll chaulk it up to experience. I'll probably buy used next time. Seems like the older TCs were better made. It's a common thing in many industries. Look at washers or dryers or refrigerators. The older ones are far more robust than new ones.
I just hope that anyone contemplating purchasing a new TC will read about my experience and take heed.
If you guys think I've wasted your time, my apologies, but my post was simply an honest account of my experience.
Cheers
