I have to admit before spending 20 grand on a new 11 foot Livinlite I would like to see the welded frame with my own eyes before they get my $$$, One thing that would help though is the fact that this unit weighs about half of what their competitors of the same size do, and I feel this would help somewhat with all that tweaking described above. Also the tension on the Tie downs contribute to all this. A lot of the More expensive Horse trailers, one being the Sundowner brand just down the road from me/ They have been making an all aluminum product for about 20 years now. They come with full living quarters for the driver. They really seem to be holding up quiet well. As well as the solid Aluminum 53 foot semi trailers capable of hauling 80,000 pounds cross country. I really have been watching these trailers and talking to the drivers. I would like to have one to pull behind my FL70, All of this info combined is what really sold me on aluminum. But it really just boils down to what a man prefers. Another big factor also is what material a man is skilled at working with when it comes to repairs. If there was one thing Avion could have done to improve my camper it would have been to use Aluminum on the floor, wings, and bunk area, And caulking would never be a concern because their simply would not be anything to rot, And my camper would be weighing a lot less. When I replace it I will be all aluminum.
