Why aren't slides built with a "pitch"

Think a lot of slides are built with the roof sloping away from the trailer. Mine is. Makes a lot of sense.

The floor is level, making about a 1-2" difference in height at the outer wall of the slide.

You can see the difference between the outer slide wall height and the height of the hole in the trailer wall when the slide is in all the way.

The tongue jack or landing legs provide the same result for zero cost.

My single slide on my trailer slopes slightly away from the trailer and if you're that concerned about it, level the trailer slightly nose or tail high so the water runs off.

Hard to build a rounded arch out of lumber that is straight.

They did, back in the day, have rounded roof barns. The neighbor has one. I always wondered how it was done until I went inside his. The rafters are all made of 1x6's . Each piece of 1x6 is cut to a shape and then 4 of them are nailed together to make a rafter with a round in it. Of course this barn was made well over 100 year ago. Can you image the labor cost going into building something like that these days????

I thought all slides had a slight pitch away from the trailer to drain the water away? My current cherokee and my previous one both had a slide with a slight pitch so the water didn't settle in thw middle. I even raise the front of my trailer a half inch to an inch to help drain the rain away and to drain the A/C condensation to the rear.

Just tilt your RV in the direction of the slides. Unless you have slides on both sides....LOL

I have sloped roofs on my slides :)

Slideouts on NUWA are not a square/rectangular box.
Floor is flat, walls are flat and roof is slightly pitched away.

Moisture runs away towards outside edge of slideout and then off either towards front or rear .

The Cathedral Slides are a nice design.
