I will take the low end grunt of a diesel winding its way up a steep back road with the camper on it any day. I used to live at the top of Black rd in the Santa Cruz Mountains it hit 14% in places and climbed 3000' feet. Tight switchbacks where with the fully loaded horse trailer in tow we would be going 5 mph with the front wheels on the outside shoulder and the trailer wheels would just stay on the pavement on the inside of the hairpin. coming down was even more fun. Hot days, heavy loads and low end grunt is waht diesels were made for. I never came close to overheating the tranny or the engine
