:h Huh HI! Going by your logic, the old trucks would have been called "1/8 tons" since they started with only half a ton(1,000 lbs) of paylaod and adding the weight of passengers like you are saying would have only left them with 250 lbs of payload.
However, how does this work with a "half ton" like the HD F150 that has over 3,000 lbs payload? Or some diesel and specialty "three quarter ton" trucks that only have 1,500 or 1,800 lbs of payload? Adding the passenger weight like you are saying would make them a "half ton" by your logic?
