We also have th 28G-GS. Never thought about what side the dinette was on - only use it during inclement weather. Dutchmen did mess up this design with the placement of the hood vent - it's not right over the burners, so the camper fills up with heat and probably unhealthy odors if you use the front burner (which is the strongest).
