Personally I don't think that is a reason at all. Actually almost exact opposite reason why you any new Fords today. I believe it was predicted that Ford would be gone as well without that bailout for GM and Chrysler. CLICKY
On another note I'm not sure why people in the pickup market are even giving Ford another chance after the 6.0L debacle and a somewhat better but still unimpressive 6.4L. I guess they say there is "one" born every minute right? :B
I think a lot of the reason you may see one make more than others has to do with the dealerships in the area. Keep in mind that Ford has many many more dealerships than Chrysler does. I can't say the same for Chev/GMC. I know in my area you will see like 4:1 Dodge/Ford & GM
