I have never owned a Dodge. However, I drove one recently and was unimpressed with the acceleration. Drove too much like my Kubota- which no doubt a lot of people find appealing. Then again- a lot of guys like fat chicks and scooters. I never cared for riding either.
Have owned a few Fords- who hasn't? At first glance they look beautiful and all you can do is think about how much you want to take one home. The front end on the Ford is excellent. Wish they would beef up the chassis to match the front axle... I know what it is- a Ford is like a girl you meet in a bar. You go to bed with a ten and wake up with a six.
While the GM trucks are the lowest rated I would wait until the new truck arrives with the eight speed and see what they rate it for. I have been terribly happy with my GM trucks (I have put over 500,000 miles on Duramax trucks). The current one has 85k trouble free miles and tows my 24,000 pound trailer all over the West- That's when it's not dragging me, hunting buddies, dogs, gear, guns, meat and booze up the side of some mountain through 12" of snow. :)
So when it comes time for a new truck I will trade in the GM and buy another one.
Why? Because the Duramax has been as faithful as my best hunting dog and unlike my wife, the truck always turns over and warms up.
