Wilderness camping and gun safety
When camping as the lone camper with miles of wilderness around, do you feel safer with a loaded firearm handy? Or is having the magazine ready to slide in a better option? Thank you for any thoughts....

As an NRA pistol instructor for many years I know what is considered safe. I never felt the need to carry myself although I have had a concealed carry permit for years. But in todays atmosphere every time I go to town I am armed and here with a "stand your ground and castle doctrine" laws I feel safer. Hope I never have to fire a shot. In the woods, I have a big ol wheel gun for out there even when hunting with a long gun.
