60hz, 120 V has been a utility power standard for longer than I've been alive. Devices can and are rated for a variety of voltages. I grew up around this stuff. Pops was a Master Electrician and at one time, also worked for GE, in Marketing and also in Wiring Devices. We had boxes of devices all over the house.
About ten-fifteen years ago I had to retrain my brain to use "120/240" instead of following along with the colloquial "110/220". If I could do it, anyone can.
The Internet is a great resource for finding information. There can sometimes be a problem whether it's correct/applicable or not. That is why I suggested to the OP to seek professional help with his RV wiring project. One could look at the result of poor wiring in the "Yikes, a fire" thread to see the result of poor installation.
