In concept the wiring is easy. You just need to run a wire from the tail light circuit and a ground wire to the lighted license plate bracket. Getting the wires to the right place might be hard. I ended up going from the tail light to the inside of the trailer then down a couple of inches to a good place below the tail light. I concealed the wiring with a standard electrical box plastic cover. It looks OK. On my trailer, the license plate bracket is below the passenger side tail light. Obviously, weather proof everything with butyl and caulking around the edges.
