I bought a 2000 Lance 1010 last Tuesday I'm very happy with the camper as it's in great condition I'm having a problem with getting the campers running lights working, I bought the wiring harness from AdventureRV and it came Thursday afternoon so I had time to get the wiring done and the truck to the beach for Friday I got the wires run to the Battery 8 Gauge and ran all the wires to the lights but no mater what I did the running lights on the camper would not work Am I missing something that has to be done special to Lance? Nothing in the paper work the camper came with says anythingMaybe something needs to be added to the truck?Thanks for the help, Bob

The clearance lights should be connected to the taillight circuit in the camper. Some rigs have fuses for different functions in the camper. Look around where the cable enters the rig. Could be in back of a cabinet near the floor.You are talking the lights around the top of the camper and across the back?If you are also talking taillights, check under the hood for separate fuses for trailer connector. Those circuits are also used for camper connections on some.

I forgot to add that there are no break or turn signals either, all wires were tied into the trucks wiring harness that goes to the trailer outlets, I tested all the camper circuits( breaks, right, left, turn signals, and running lights) with 12v from the camper and they all work2005 Ford F350 SRW

The old camper (1986 12' Real-Lite) had a ground from the lights to the plug and a ground from the battery to the plug 2 separate grounds it seems lance only uses one ground from the battery

Should the ground go to the frame of the truck??
and I would think the 8 ga. wire going to the battery would be the ground??

Yes, a good wire directly to battery should be good, however the lights may have a separate ground connection.
What kind of truck is the camper on?
You could have blown the fuses under the hood depending on make. Some have the trailer connector fuses under the dash.
Is this the wiring diagram you are going by? Make sure the black and white are not reversed.

The ground for the running and turn lights needs to come from the truck. The camper battery ground isn't relevant. Check the ground in the camper to truck harness. If you're talking about the truck battery negative, that should be good enough. Does a test light work in the truck plug?

I grounded my Lance truck side plug to the truck frame which worked great. 2002 F250.
