I was leaning Ram 6.4, but heard the tranny wasn't geared well. The Chevy 6.0 I was worried didn't have quite enough oomph, and I just didn't like the Ford (not sure why).
For 2020 Chevy will have a new 6.6 gas engine. I have a '16 Chev 4x4 CC reg bed with the 6.0 and 6 spd and it tows just fine. My TT is about 10K loaded plus I tow a 14K dump trailer and a 14K PJ tilt bed with no problems. Plenty of power and the 6 speed with 4.10 gears does a great job.
I like that the big 3 will be all be close in towing capability. Like the new GMC tailgate step. I don't travel far enough to justify a diesel either. Maybe if I won the lottery I'd order one.
