I bought my 2015 ram to carry my slidein camper. According to the ram body builders website my truck has a camper capacity of 5575 lbs.
This time I bought a 4x4 tradesman version off the lot which has just about every option you can put on a tradesman.
When I got it home I found a piece of paper in the truck saying "this truck not recommended for slide in camper use". several of us here and other places were also stumped about this. FCA has no answer. after comparing notes, the only thing we can think of is that if you have the "protection group" (a transfer case skid plate) you will get this "not recommended" note.
I guess they feel your truck is setup for snow plowing and they don't want you snow plowing with a camper on the back? who knows. it hauls my wolf creak perfect :)
