We are trading in our Pastime 840LT camper which has the same dry weight as our new Wolf Creek 840 dry weight. We have a 2014 F150 supercab and have the RideRite bags. We only owned/used the Pastime for one season and went across country with it and everything went fine but with that being said, we are new to TC'ing. Are we making a mistake by putting this type of camper on an F150 with the airbags? We are also upgrading our tires now to Michelin Defender for superduty XL as these will substantially help w the tire concerns. Neither of us would like a larger truck and we have been told by many that this new, 2016 Wolf Creek 840 SB is the camper for us! Any thoughts? We do not want the generator or microwave or air conditioner but did opt for the 150 Watt roof mounted solar panel all in hopes of keeping the weight down. It is only us two and a microscopic dog!
You are making a costly mistake putting that camper on any F-150. Airbags won't matter. Did you include all the "mandatory" optional items?
I would not be surprised at all if that camper loaded for camping weighs over 3000 lbs. The truck is not designed to carry that kind of weight.
