My hart goes out to you guys. Times past, I have been in the same position. Like most things in life, there is a learning curve. It is an ongoing struggle within ourselves to put our emotions/wants on check and use our available information.
Personally, if the dealer does not return the deposit, I would challenge them in every way. I am firmly convinced they have absolutely misrepresented what they are trying to sell you.
x2 if the dealer gives you a hard time...simply point out your 1500 lbs capacity of your truck and let them know your insurance agent said your policy would not cover the overweight situation the dealer would put you in.
