I know! Since I am a female I feel I can share my feelings about this truck! I never wanted a truck due to the very poor fuel economy but this truck has been a delight! We do actually get the 23 mpg on the highway and I find it very comfortable so that is why we were pursuing this camper! It is clearly listed as a fit for this truck and so that got us both excited! Well, now it is just going to be a new truck and a new camper but a lot of frustrations and money lost for us! Not as much lost had we crashed, etc! It will all be good!
You'll do ok $ wise unless you plan on going brand new on the truck again. Eco boosts have great resale and gasser 2500/3500 trucks don't, so if you sell it outright and buy a used comparable 3/4 or 1t gasser should be about even money. Only thing you're losing out on is fuel mileage, which if you use the truck as a truck gets somewhat made up by longer lasting parts on a HD pickup vs a light duty truck being used in the same manner.
I saw you mention the 1500lb cap on your current truck. Glad you checked into that as its a completely different and lighter rear end/suspension than the HD 150s.
Good luck in your search. Also realize that if you're going Ford again, 2017 models are going to be a major re design. That will jack the prices of the '17 models but should help price considerably on '16 models.
