Wolf Creek 840/850 owners

Looking in to getting a 840, and was wondering if you are able to situp in the bed over the cab without hitting your head?
  • That is the hard part.. getting her out of bed early.

I get up at the crack of dawn, her not so much. :)
  • tell her if she moves down to table for her coffee, she will have a beautiful view 3 ways out all the windows in the 840 :)
  • Thanks for all the responses guys, looks like it will work. :)

We don't spend a lot of time in the camper, but the wife likes to veg in the morning in the camper with a cup of coffee and would like to be able to situp in the bed area.

If Mommas not happy nobody's happy. :)

I'm 6'3", there is no way I can sit upright at the head of the bed, but I do fit upright at the foot. I'm not sure why I would ever want/need to sit completely upright at the head. There is plenty of room to move around and crawl around everywhere.
  • I bump my head every once in awhile when getting in or out of bed, but I wouldn't say the lower ceiling was a problem. It's the tradeoff you get for a lower profile unit that is more capable off-road.
  • I wanted to add I hope this measurement don't stop you from looking at the Wolf Creek. If we read in bed we are laying down or head propped up on pillows.

We were kind of disappointed that we could not come up with a good way to mount the TV in our 840 so it could be viewed in both Bed and or rest of camper. We decided we don't need to lay in bed and watch TV so we mounted the TV under the kitchen cabinets with a mount that allows the TV to swing up out of the way and love it.

Sure we might lay in bed and use computer/tablet/kindle/phone to browse internet but we don't miss the TV in bedroom.

living in a small space of a Truck camper is all about compromise and this was one of them.
  • at the highest point (bathroom end of bed) it is 31" from top of mattress to roof. at the front of bed it was like 26-27" from top of mattress to roof.
This is from the top of the 8" mattress, which does crush some as you sit on it.
  • Sounds like it might work.

Could I get a cabover height measurement. I am thinking something in the 36" range "should" work for us.

    Thanks
  • I've hit my head plenty of times, but that's mostly because I'm an idiot. YMMV
  • I guess it depends how tall you are. My head hits and my wife just barely. We have found both of us can sit at the foot of the bed with a pillow against both wards and hang out/drink our coffee. The 840 looks better designed for this purpose as you could put your back against the bathroom wall install a reading linght if that is what you are looking to do.
