Hi JP, I cut the casing to size but be careful, can't uncut it. When I removed the old vent I found a lot of rotten wood that had to be removed. I had to build a inside frame to cover what the trim didn't. The FF won't operate until the vent cover is raised a certain height. Before permanently mounting the Camco make sure the FF vent cover can be raised enough to allow the fan to operate and the vent to open to max. Can't see an issue with the al trim. I just removed it. However the holes may not match. Probably won't. I reinforced mine with thin plywood from underneath as a back up for the screws Don't forget to seal the screw holes.
