Working underneath a trailer--best way to do it?

I'm strongly considering buying a small travel trailer in the next year or so. One concern I have is being able to work under it. I know this is sometimes necessary, and always a good idea to inspect parts underneath.

I have some back issues and may have a lot of problems crawling underneath. I do have a paved driveway that it will fit in, so could use something like a mechanics creeper.

But how is the best way to get the trailer SAFELY up high enough to get under it to work?

Can I drive a trailer (probably a single axle) up on ramps, leave it hitched up, chock the trailer, and set the brake on the tow vehicle? This will likely have the trailer sitting tongue-down, though.

Or is it better to raise the tongue jack and use bottle jacks under the axle?

I've known 2 people who were killed when a car dropped on them, so am a little paranoid about this.
