Would a Chevy 1500 HD be a good truck to tow with?

I do know that some of the 1500HD`s had the semifloat rear axle, albeit with bigger axle bearings. I don`t know if or when they changed it. If I`m getting a HD anything I want it to be all HD, not some of it!
