Would you buy R-vision with current situation?

I found out that R-vision is now defunct.. looks like Thor as bought the plant to build more motor homes, but does not seem to interested in building more of their product.
I was considering buyibg a trail lite.. but now would be concerned after warranty is up, and future support part etc..

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

To answer your question based on what happened to me I would NEVER give a dime to R Vision again. Spend your money on a company that is still in business.

    Good Luck

Well a RV company in business today, may not be in business tomorrow! I expect the major ones to be, but due to buyout's and mergers, the economy and the ever changing RV business, you can no longer count on this for any of them.

This is what I would do. But, to each his own and it depends on how handy you are at fixing things.
  • Wow Chris... that was a nightmare, thanks for the info. how did it all end up?

  • I just traded in a 9 y/o Trail Lite trailer and never had any major problems with it. The only thing that kind of give me a brief scare last summer was the squirrel cage fan had a hair line crack in it and i had to replace it. I found out during this time that the AC unit was a Carrier and almost impossible to get new parts for it. I was lucky enough to get a used fan blade and it was as good as new.

The parts guy where i bought the trailer did say that if anything serious goes wrong with the unit you might have a hard time getting it fixed. That could happen too any RV though. That had absolutely no baring on trading it in this year, we just wanted to upgrade and go up in size a bit. I would buy another RV product if it was me as most all the parts on them are from an outside source.

  • I own a Trail Lite by R-vision. It's 14 years old but I've never had a problem getting any parts by just going to any RV dealer. The parts are so interchangeable from one manufacturer to the rest I haven't had any issues...
  • Yeah.. I read that before, says "they don't" plan on continuing production of those brands= could be a problem.
  • We have a Rvision 31' Trail-Bay Lite TT and love it! Anything on the TT can be replaced, and/or upgraded if desired. Ext-warranties are a waste of $ IMHO.
