Keep the Jayco and put it in storage. You should have comprehensive and contents insurance already so IF you ever have a problem you will be covered. I wouldn't be happy going back to a pop up after having a trailer. According to your logic all small trailers are rip offs, which may or may not be true. We went from a 22 ft to a 34 foot double slide with twice as much space when the slides are included. Many other upgrades as well. Price was only about 50% higher for more than twice as much trailer. Was the small trailer a rip off or the large trailer a bargain? You can look at it either way.
