Yipee I Won

I just won an awesome deal in my eyes anyway on Ebay. A Hi-lo 22 footer. I'll give the link below. Please tell me I did good or did I let something shiny ruin my judgement.

    The fridge may just need some more time to cool down. My first TT would take several days. The new ones are a lot faster. It is encouraging that the coils get hot.

    Hard to believe but I still haven't picked up the Hi-Lo yet. Right after the auction the guy had a death in the family and has been morning ever since. Just heard from him today and going to pick it up on Saturday. It's about 12 hour drive so I'll leave tomorrow around noon and stay the night in some motel and should be there around noon on Saturday. This will give me time to test the brakes and bearings and if needed change them before the shops close. Wish me luck. Thanks for all the responses.

    If you've been reading this forum you will also know about tires. "Good tread but some cracking in the sidewalls" is a real red flag so figure on new tires. You don't want a tire seperation rolling down the highway. I don't know anything about a good deal or not, but I do know my fondest memories are in similar Rv's when I was younger. Everything we did was an adventure because it was all new. You'll love it.

    There are two brake controller choices, Prodigy II and Prodigy III. Prodigy 3 has more lights and a few bells and whistles. My Prodigy II does a great job. Shop around, maybe one of the bigger resellers will have it on sale. If you have a later model truck, make sure the wiring harness for your truck is included, that makes the installation plug and play. In a situation without a plug for controller, you'll need to splice three wires.

    Thanks Mack, Yes if needed will use a sway bar, but I'm understanding that because of the low wind drag, should not be necessary. It's in the budget if needed. Thanks for all the help guys.

    Good, with that you should be fine. Do you plan on using any type of WD/Sway hitch?

    When we bought ours we had to set up our Equalizer brand hitch in the driveway (had our 2002 Ford Excursion back when that happened).

    Keep in mind you might have to do that and budget your time accordingly. I had planned for that and it still took a bit longer than I anticipated.

    Just out of curiosity, what are you towing with?

    A 99gmc sierra half ton with tow package good for 7000 pounds.

    We purchased our Jayco Eagle from a private seller in New Jersey, and live in NW Ohio. It was an easy drive across the Ohio Turnpike to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, then about 70% of the way across we angled southeast and down into Jersey.
