We are on our 2nd truck / 3rd camper since 2008.
Steep learning curve at the beginning - used Lance 915 needed a lot of rot repair in the rear 2'.
Then we had an Outfitter Apex 8 from 2011-2016. Since last year we have a Northstar.
Legal/regulatory framework is different here in Europe. We have paperwork that states GVWR and axle ratings, and if you do get weighed you better not be over. Some countries are stricter than others - 10% over may be just a fine in one place, or unload before you can proceed in another.
The paperwork is created individually for each truck that is not officially sold here, and the numbers in these papers are based on the US door sticker - for lack of any better documentation available to the certifying body. It is not as simple as installing overload springs or a sway bar... legally.
Since American pickup trucks and truck campers are quite exotic here, you are pretty much on your own when something breaks. It is very difficult to find a skilled mechanic for a modern diesel truck... Same for any US-specific camper stuff - furnace, water heater, whenever something breaks I get to learn something new ;-)
