As has been posted, TC's are extremely expensive for the square footage you get plus you need a large truck to haul them safely. In my early 20's, I did not have that much money so used a small truck and a fiberglass travel trailer or pop up trailer. It wasn't until my late 30's that I could afford a large truck and toy hauler (which cost almost what you will pay for a large TC and enclosed trailer). Because of the cost, I don't think you will find much of the young crowd can afford a TC setup. However, it is easier financially to get into RVing with a trailer and use your current vehicle.
No I get it. But my first TC was $1400 and it rode on a F350 with 200k miles. Now it was kinda junky but provided a warm dry place to sleep and hang out in plus we got to figure out what a TC is like. Now I know most of us on here have some new or newer very high dollar TC's and trucks...but it can be done on a budget just like a TT or other RV.
If I had some guidance and shown some TC stuff that I could have afforded, I wouldn't have progressed RV wise like I personally did.
So I'm not in disagreement but the same argument can be hashed out with some of the class A people too...you don't need to start with a 43' pusher but a small 28' gas one is obtainable for a lot less....we have to remember this when showing the younger crowd the joys of RVing!
