Regarding the fresh water fill; when you’re forced to fill the water tank using jugs, almost ANY type of gravity fill port is difficult because of how high it is when the camper is on the truck. When I was recovering from shoulder injuries, there is no way I could have lifted a 50+ lbs water jug over shoulder height to pour it in the gravity fill.
That was when I really appreciated the marine hatch cover I had put in the top of my water tank several years ago. That wasn’t the reason I did it, but it sure helped being able to bring the water jugs inside the camper and keep them down below my waist while pouring.
I suspect your water tank my be in the same place mine is, below the step to the cab over bed. You might consider putting one in.
