Making room for the grey tank...

My fiberglass cap was not in great shape to begin with. When it comes to fiberglass, I feel if you're gonna make a mess, might as well make a big mess. The stair and t-handle recesses had to go to make room for the grey tank. While I was at it I figured I'd make a bumper cutout so the camper can sit lower and farther forward on the truck.
The curved cutouts were wrapped with a stiff plastic to act as a mold.

The bumper cutout was 'stuffed' with a 4" PVC pipe wrapped in wax paper.


Between 3 and 7 layers of woven glass were used depending on location.


The wax paper worked well.




I don't plan to leave it this color, just had lots of silver paint on hand.

It's far from perfect(notice no pic of the middle). It's solid and will get me down the road this year.
Now I have to drop the grey tank and paint the underside. Also working on the bathroom walls.
