I would highly recommend some manner of p-trap between the drains and the tank including the shower. You will get worse odors from a grey water tank than are in black water at times. I do not have a black tank either, and went with the Thetford recirculating toilet. I did connect the toilet drain and the grey water drain so that I can flush the toilet contents in the hose with the grey water. Keeps draining simple. It also allows me to drain my toilet to a 5 gallon buck when dry camping at BLM type campgrounds, and dump down a pit toilet.
