Pacific Rim, as I perused Searchtempest this AM, I discovered a Cayo Motorvator on the Bend OR CL.
I bring this to your attention for a couple of reasons, based on my own long journey with Argo, the all-aluminum camper.
Two and a half years into this project - to get an Avion on the back of a 4WD truck, I have found out many interesting things. One is that Cayo, in building the Motorvator, realized that the camper would outlast the van. Consequently they made the rig such that the camper can be removed fairly easily and put onto a new van or truck chassis. You can buy a new van with an open back cab or a truck in the cab/chassis configuration from a new car dealer. With some tinkering, you could have a full function, specifically designed, class C camper with the stylish Avion/Cayo body on a brand new vehicle.
Were I to undertake my project again, that's what I'd do. But then, I travel with a wife and two GSDs and we are convinced we need access back and forth, from within.
Food for thought as you pursue your Avion vision/fantasy...
