That makes sense, lots of room for future expansion.
How heavy are the panels?
Most truck beds are solid mount to the frame but will still have a degree of flex, especially on older/high mileage trucks. I would try to keep everything mounted to the same thing, be it frame or bed but not both.
The jack brackets might be used in lieu of drilling additional holes in the wings.
Maybe just a padded bag to slip between the bed front and camper on top of the 4x4. Any old windsurf board bags lying around?
