So,one lithium is equal to two AGM's in power available?....Lots of people going to lithium batteries but two lithium batteries for $1500+ is not in my budget..The restrictions posed by lithium batteries doesn't work well in this area and the winter weather we get...
There are still some good batteries under or around $200 if a person looks hard.
Yes, agm and flooded may have a rating of 100ah but you can only burn that battery down to 50% without damaging them. So your usable ah of 2 agm batteries is 100ah. Lithium can basically be burned to 0 and the bms will disconnect it.
All batteries suffer in cold weather, there are charging temp limits but you can take a lithium pretty cold. I just insulated the exterior section of the battery box and vented the box to the living quarters to keep it warmer. In a TC i don't think keeping the battery warm is a big deal, I camped at Tucson this past fall down to 28*.
A couple selling points for me was it's ability to charge at .5c all the way to 100%. I dry camp on solar mostly, the battery is generally at 50% in the morning from my compressor fridge. It'll recover by 12-2 depending on harvest. It also shaved 120lbs off the rig, and everything dc works better at the higher operating voltage of lithium.
