Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, out on Road NF-26
VIDEO: Mt Baker Snoqualmie NF Road 26 Checking It Out
I spent a couple days in the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, out on Road NF-26 with my faithful cat Archie. Had a great time being surrounded by such thick dense forest with the ground carpeted in a lush green moss and ferns. It's about 23 miles +/- to get to Sulphur Creek Campground and trailhead which was closed for the end of season. There was plenty of room outside the gate for a few vehicles if somebody wanted to go there this time of the year. There are no services and if a Ranger patrols the area, I have no idea of the regularity of that happening. There is a trail acces there with plenty of parking for a remote location. Have food, water, fuel, and any supplies you think you may need if you go here in the off season. Beware, if significant snow falls, you may become stuck. There are several other campgrounds along the way so if you can't get a spot at one, look for another. Summertime may present a bigger challenge for a camp spot. Well worth the effort.
