Finally after a year of this and that and life changes I got my rig together. Original thoughts were to find a camper for my F150, only to be disappointed at what I could actually haul. A popup is not where my mind wanted to go. The 1992 Lance showed up on craigslist for $2500, it has everything I could want. Long story short, he replaced the frig and the front window in the unit and I gave him his asking price. And he delivered it to my driveway. So now I needed a truck to haul it. Nine months later and a zillion forum messages read, this 2006 F350 showed up on the internet. It was everything I'd been looking for. Even came with a 5th wheel installed and a plug in the bed for the umbilical cord. Electrics were all set up. Price was right so I pulled the trigger.
I still have a few things to iron out, some little stuff to fix, batteries to install and such, but its good for overnighters for now.
Thanks to all who support and run these forums, they are priceless for ideas and inspiration. I've started my own blog about my adventures. We have lots of plans for the summer, including a trip to Arkansas in July. We can't wait to hit the road.
