The Hemi will get the job done. I used to tow a lot more weight with all my old gas trucks, most of which were less powerful than a new Hemi. So I can't tell you the Hemi won't work just fine.
However... the diesel will do it a LOT better, and your resale value will be huge with a Cummins, not so good with any gas engine.
The diesel is the one everyone wants.
That Cummins 6.7 will make the difference between being able to get where you're gong with a load, and cruising effortlessly both up and down the hills like it was nothing.
I would and did get a diesel.
