The weirdest was one older couple, they paid rent no problem. Generally took care of the place. Professed wanting to buy the house. (I always had a lease to own contract handy for anyone willing and able). At the end of their lease term, they wouldn’t re-sign.
I generously gave them 2 months @ month to month to either chit or get off the pot. At the end of that I told them to pack up and get out.
Turned out they had moved in 40 years of “stuff”, didn’t “have the resources” to move and threatened legal action if I did eviction proceedings. And quit paying rent because it was “too high.” Lol.
It took a bit of “coercion “ of which I cannot go into detail to get them to leave. They were the only deadbeats that didn’t do any harm to the home though.
