- noxinnhojExplorerswept out the lance today, ready for some fall camping, wind and rain warnings are in effect around here but we are heading out, love this time of the year !!
- monicarick01ExplorerI checked for leaks and found 2 in the outside storage areas that I cannot find where they are coming from. Leaks are the worst!!! I added more weather stripping and checked all the caulking.
A mystery indeed. - dakonthemountaiExplorer

Here is what I did to my old S&S.
Swapped the clear bottom window with the frosted top.
Took down factory valance
Added a trim board
New valance with pull down shade inside
With shade pulled
Then I could raise the shade to look out without opening the door. My present SunLite has the clear glass from the factory with a pull down shade but you can not operate it as it is between the screen door. I just leave the shade up and when I want privacy I open the bathroom door which opens against the entry door. :C
VERY nice! .... and a great idea! I have frosted glass in the top of my door so I don't have this need, but I'd like to swap it out and will do the same thing you did! I have a small clear window on the bottom with an insulated flap that I have to open the door to pull up, but that's not a problem and it's handy for backing up sometimes.
Thanks for the photos! Nice job. :)

I replaced the Frosted Glass with Clear on our 2011 Eagle Cap 950 two years ago. It was a simple chore and my wife made a set of Velco on Curtains that we use if and when needed for the upper and lower clear windows. The clear view is great I don't know why I never did this mod to our previous two campers.

- Reddog1Explorer III think the frosted window was a Monkey see, Monkey do thing. I am not aware of any TCs that do not have frosted glass in the door.
- kenzmadExplorerLoaded mine up for deer season. Headed out in the morning. 5 days then back home for 2 and back in the woods chasing elk. Will be camped where only people with wall tents and campers can go. No TT going up this road.

I bet with the light on inside the TC, and dark outside, people can see inside the TC. Do you have a curtain?
I replaced the rear window in the door of my 2012 Lance 855S camper with one that is a clear bronze tint. The original window is a textured frost. Why, I can not tell you. I enjoy the new window because now I can see out the back of the camper while inside. I'll post up photos tomorrow.
I have wanted to change mine for years, but not enough room between the screen and door for a curtain.

Yes. The camper comes stock with a pull-down shade. I can't figure out why Lance went with the frosted window there. All the other windows are clear bronze tint with shades, they put a shade on this window too. The bronze glass is safety glass and cost me $24 and some of that putty tape stuff for caulking. It's a clamp/clamshell design and was very easy to change out. Maybe took me 15 to 20 minutes to perform. DW loves that she can now look out back and see if someone is coming in and who it is. If it were me, and I had the frame, I would have put in a longer window for even more light and view. There is one thing to consider; this is a single pane window and will condense water on it when it's cold out. It was pretty neat to see the window in the dining slide right next to this door window; one a dual pane, the other a single pane and observe the difference in the condensation. There was none on the dual pane.
I'm sure the frosted glass also had condensation, but since you cant see through it anyways, you couldn't tell. Maybe that is why Lance used a frosted glass; didn't want to pay for a dual pane window and didn't want folks to complain about the condensation blocking the view.
Oh nice! I can't wait for the details. I've been wanting to do something like that on my 1055
