- Buzzcut1Nomad IIoohhhh man this was the best meal yet, that I have cooked in the Lance. wild Atlantic Salmon baked with a Cajun rub and chopped garlic, steamed and buttered Asparagus tips, Kale salad, and a non Alcoholic Beer to wash it all down (sober since July 10 1981)
the after taste is making me want to eat more than I should in a diet busting manner.

I think that is a very interesting idea. However Twitter is a passive messaging system. In other words its a "feed" that the recipient reads after someone Tweets it or reTweets it. 140 characters max.
Clearly, that is not what is happening here. This is an active posting system where people ask questions and others weigh in with their experience (or their opinions). If the posts are hidden, without an active presence on the front page of the Forum, then its difficult for the system to work.
In the case of Buzzcuts posts, which I have followed for years, he always has an interesting take on camping and the specific kinds of ways that it facilitates his interests. As I recall many of Buzzcut's posts have dealt with horse shows. What if they were buried inside of "What did you do today?"
Perhaps a Twitter feed is what this Forum needs. But, I don't think that this string really resembles that.
you took Twitter Feed way too literally. What I implied is that it is just a little snippet, a glimpse in to the daily dalliances of the other board members. A headline news bullet without the attached story. If you find something that you feel warrants more from a post, ask the member here or via PM to create a thread....
and I do bury parts of my trips in this tread when on the road and haven't decided if I want to do a TR or not. - 67avionExplorer II

- Capt_EddieExplorerFor the first time, I put my Lance 1040 on my new Dodge 4500, 4 x 4 CC,Cummings. It appears to fit perfectly, maybe to perfect. I might need wiggle room. I have 3 guides on each side of the bed, so I know that It can not move much may 1/2 inch side to side. One big concern was trying to remember how I rewired the plug. I lucked out and was right when I wired the truck with the charge wire to the center post and the backup wire to the power feed position. That way I can use the largest wire possible to charge the battery. I put bleach in the tanks and circulated it through the system. A problem occurred. No water out of the shower head. I suspected that crud may have clogged it up, I was right. It is soaking in bleach now. I will try to get the wife to take some new pictures to post. Heading to Key West Florida May 19 to the 25.
- _DJ_1Explorer III don't come to this thread much anymore. Real tired of wading through all the "I looked at it" "I touched it" "I patted it" "I washed it" BS to see if there was anything actually interesting posted. Talk about a waste of bandwidth!!

its a good thing - 67avionExplorer IIHey Mello!
Appreciate your response and Kerry. Its true some topics don't warrant an entire thread, but one can't always be sure which ones do and which ones don't. Thus open posting with interesting headlines will pull in lurkers and others who happen to have a passing interest. At least that's my observation.
A thread of this type is extremely hard to navigate. That is my experience on the Avion thread. We actually have guys who are cataloguing the pages so that newbies can access the material we have gone over. I don't think that sort of things happens very often with generalized material.
Here's the thing, though. As I stated before this is an enormous string that a lot of people have found interesting. Others have suggested that it takes away interesting posts that might otherwise be read. I understand that we all want to maximize the access to the Forum and enlarge the truck camping experience...so thats what I'm thinking about.
As to whether nicer weather is lessening the postings, don't know. There has also been bad weather and low postings.
Gotta go. Its beautiful outside! - Mello_MikeExplorerI agree with Kerry. Some topics don't warrant an entire thread which makes this thread valuable, whereas if you're involved with an important project or have an important question, those topics deserve their own thread. I think the low number of posts at this time has more to do with folks going out and enjoying their camper now that Spring is here rather than a loss of interest in this forum or a particular thread sucking the energy out of the forum.
- kerry4951ExplorerI think it can depend on the particular thing you are writing about. If I go out and add a little caulk to a bad spot on my TC, and if I wanted to post that, I would more than likely use this thread. If I built a new couch/dinette combo, or added a new full wall wardrobe, I would want to start a new thread on something that major. Thats just my thoughts.
