If you have an open mind, and consider RV.NET as a whole, I think you will understand the point made here. Do we really want just "1 huge thread"?
I can see your point 67Avion, lots of great ideas in this thread but a big huge thread becomes cumbersome. I think some of the special projects should have their own thread. I think they would be easier to find and would add more life to the forum... otherwise, why have a sub forum just have 1 huge thread.
As a moderator, it is an ongoing issue in moving threads to the appropriate Forum. We can move threads, but not posts. We can delete posts. One the most obvious reasons is the post is Off Topic. The most obvious question is, if the post is not TC specific and the post is in the TC Forum, is it Off Topic?
Again, I ask you to consider the RV.NET Forum as a whole, not just the TC Forum or this only thread.

- dakonthemountaiExplorerInteresting thoughts on this thread. I suppose I'm one of those that post useless or trivial or unimportant (at least to some)things that I do to my camper now and then. But then again, that IS the title of the thread and I thought I was contributing as other do in that vein. I didn't know there was a threshold of what would be considered worthy or not. Not all of us devote hours and hours or days and days and weeks doing projects on our camper to start a separate thread and start a dialog pages long. I no long have the time to devote to that. I do post specific things in separate threads when I believe it warrants specific dialog though. Yes, when I'm "bored" or there are no other threads that catch my eye or I feel I can contribute to I come here for a quick look at the "new posts." The forum keeps track of what I've already viewed and I don't have to wade through a lot of stuff over and over to see anything new. I enjoy the posts about washing, looking at it or whatever as a 1 second bit of humor. Is it really that bad to have to read that? I'm just as busy as anyone else I know; some would say MUCH more busy, so a second of fun is nice. If the tone of this thread is not conducive to the health of the forum than I would assume the powers that be will remove it. That's not for me to decide. Until then, I will continue to post occasional "hey all" posts about small stuff here. I have the option of not looking at this thread and so do others.
So there's my 2 cents worth, that in today's economy isn't worth 2 cents! :)

- 67avionExplorer IIHi Rick. Sorry to have upset you, but the point was NOT that I didn't like the thread. But that it might be undermining the rest of the Forum. I hope you read all of the remarks so that you understand the issue. Ultimately it's up to our community to make sense of the directions we take, along with the owners and sponsors of RV.net. I don't know them or have any relationship to them. But most emphatically I do not call into question anyone's motivation.
- 67avionExplorer IIThanks for everyone's responses. I think its time that I step away from this issue. Remember, I have nothing but respect and good wishes for the posters on this thread. My purpose was to raise questions about the viability of the overall Forum. I'm sure we'll revisit this and other ideas in the future.
- iwon415ExplorerAlso one of my favorite posts. Reminds me of things I need to do. Reminds me of things I didn't even think to do.
I don't see anyone opposing Sleepys marathon...why isn't he made to seperate each trip to a different post? Would seem to follow your reasoning...
As to the Avion thread, I don't care a lick about Avions yet I read it hoping to see more pictures of peoples work on their campers no matter what type. No pictures, I usually move on.

This is one of my favorite threads also. I've learned about things that I probably wouldn't have even looked at. Also, folks are more apt to share a little information that they may not want to create a thread for.
This is my favorite thread also please if it isn't broken don't fix it .
