Dug down into the bowels of the electrical/ battery compartment to see what battery the dealer installed. What a pia that was. Turned out to be an EverStart marine battery.
Sure is going to rough checking the water.
Anybody use the auto water filling systems?
Yes, on my old MH. Had (4) 6 volts and used the water fill system. It worked wonderful. Went to AGM batteries in the TC so I dont use the system anymore. - Bill_TExplorerDug down into the bowels of the electrical/ battery compartment to see what battery the dealer installed. Anybody use the auto water filling systems? - _DJ_1Explorer IIAfter several years of putting up with spindly legged saw horses that I had to crawl under the TC and make sure the legs were spread and place a 2x4 under each foot, I made these bases today.
Now I can slide them in with one hand to position them and they are DONE!!!! :B
- mountainkowboyExplorerMade a final "punch" list for things that need to be done and/or tested. We have a 4 day TC weekend coming up in January, so I need to get on it. If I get it done early enough.....might slip out to the desert for a test run.
Got my Stable Loads for the truck, but high winds are still here. So I still cant load the TC. Have converted all the interior lights over to LED except for the bathroom. We dont use much battery now. - KidooExplorerThe days are getting shorter and colder. Yesterday, after work, under the spotlight and at 30 F, I routed my wires for the solar panel. A bit scary walking over the icy roof but things have to get done, heading south in Feb. Today I will install my muffler on the onan gene. I made a modified tube using a car flex tube between the muffler and the exhaust tube. It worked great, it seem to smooth the sound a bit too. Now the only noise I have is from the gene itself.
Hope they had put a honda 2000 in this camper, would have been much less noise and much more efficient. - jason4598ExplorerLooked at all the problems it has, and wished I was as handy as you folks.

We're having a heat wave! it is 44F ABOVE 0 today! It won't last, but living on an island in the Gulf of Alaska you learn that the one constant is "if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes, the weather will change" Some times its more than 5 minutes, but at times it will change just that fast! But a HOT day in Kodiak in the summer is 65F. And other than last week, the usual lows in the winter hang around mid 20s to mid 30s. Last week the island got a bitter cold blast from the North that drove temps to single digits above and winds to 70mph! I'm glad we were in Anchorage where it was just single digits above and below, with no wind...:@
Garry in "Balmy" Kodiak - Chief_2ExplorerI attempted to change the air filter and spark plug on my generator. Air filter was no problem, but to change the spark plug you have to drop the generator out of the TC. If they had just put an access plug in the pan it sits on it would have been easy. Needless to say the plug didn't get changed. Only 52 hrs. on it anyway.
I also insulated one of my compartments with some foam board left over from an insulation project on my 5'r bedroom. - _DJ_1Explorer II

Nothing in 60+mph winds.
Our winds finally took a break, and I was able to take the camper off the truck, and got the pallets and blocks under it for stability before the winds kick up again! And when we have a day that it isn't raining or snowing, I can crawl under and install my new gray water tank and get it plumbed in. Then I can add the floor insulation. Hate to take it off, but more snow is coming, and really don't like plowing with the camper on because I can't see to the rear real good. But i will miss the weight in the bed of the truck!;)
Keep up the ideas for the camper projects!!!
