- ChrisnKatyExplorerDrove it home for the very first time! We just picked up our new (used) 2012 Eagle Cap 1060 and our new truck too, a Cert. per-owned 2010 F350 crew Cab Dually 4x4. Out TC is amazing! We are so looking forward to all of the adventures we are going to have. We are total newbies, so I'm sure I'll be checking in here often for your advice, wisdom and humor. Posted a pic of our new rig on the photo page.

Busy day today...washed camper, both motorcycles, and both trucks (Silverado for camper and Honda Ridgeline for daily drive). Had everything out for washing...so why not!
Want to stay ahead of the power curve since the month will fly by and then it's off to Alaska :-)
Hopefully, it will stop snowing before you get here... - JRJRExplorerTook the truck over to the storage, put the camper on and took it home.
De - winterized it. Washed the whole thing including the roof. Took it back over to storage and unloaded it.
Now its ready for a summer of camping.
John - wintersunExplorer IIAdded a side mounting rack for a new Porta-bote. Will be taking the Porta-bote into the eastern sierras in June and hitting the small lakes along the way.
- 2cknightsExplorerMowed the grass around it.
- KidooExplorerLucky you are, Alaska, trip of a lifetime. I will go back for sure.

You will have a great time in Alaska. Just forget about trying to keep your truck clean up there. - Busy day today...washed camper, both motorcycles, and both trucks (Silverado for camper and Honda Ridgeline for daily drive). Had everything out for washing...so why not!
Want to stay ahead of the power curve since the month will fly by and then it's off to Alaska :-) - Michigan_RodExplorerI changed oil & filter, spark plug in the generator. Off loaded the camper, touched up some caulking. Installed a bar on the screen door. Removed the a/c cover to stuff plastic bags in the area to keep the bees out.
Wash & wax is next. I want to replace my excape hatch cover only because of it's age. - Did one of the jobs I hate the most...cleaned and serviced the black and gray water dump valves.
FIRST double checked to make sure the tanks were empty, then opened valves and inspected the seals. They are right at the back of our camper so they can be serviced without taking things apart.
A little light soapy water scrub of the seals to make sure there's no "residue" getting jammed in each time the valve is shut. Then a light coat of silicon spray on each of the handle shafts and life is good!
