- spacedoutbobExplorerI repaired my air conditioning housing, I had accidentally glanced off a low tree branch and put holes and cracks in it. Turned out great. I used screen and bondo and then repainted it.
Bob in Calif. - Mello_MikeExplorerI absolutely love the sound of the 2003 6.0L Turbo as it whines getting up to speed. I sure miss my Diesel Excursion. :(
- mooring_productExplorerICP on your 03 truck is beside the turbo and is lots of fun to change.
- Buzzcut1Nomad III took the truck out for a test drive after it came back from the shop. I took it in because the CEL was on and I had some performance issues. They had to replace the EGR Valve, Injection Pressure Control Sensor under the turbo (ICP) the 3 wire pigtail for it, the Injection Pressure Control Regulator (IPR) , and reprogram the PCM. It now has good power even when cold. smooth power band from a stop to speed vs hesitation then a kick in after you hit 5-6 mph. I pulled up to a tall curb came to a dead stop then backed up and over it with tons of power, had to bump it before. They seem to have fixed all the issues.
Put the camper back on, ready to head out tomorrow night
- tonyj54ExplorerOkay, anniversary notwithstanding, I had to go out and drill holes in rear tie down iron for eyebolts, just to see if the idea was gonna work. Good news. It did. Rear turnbuckles are installed and ready to tighten down, and we start working in front tomorrow.
We hooked up water supply to be sure we had no more leaks inside. Plumbing now appears fully functional.
Last, but certainly not least, I removed cooking area vent fan to have a look-see. Fan appears shot, so we'll have to find a replacement.
Coming right along. Starting to seriously think about our shakedown trip. - WVbassmistressExplorer

I'm a HUGE fan of West Virginia! Some of the best motorcycle roads in America and great hunting!
If I wasn't working full time I could be enticed to "visit".......... :-)
Just say when.
Back to the topic....all we have been able to do is air it out a bit. Free weekends are just too hard to come by. I did find come good cleaner/polisher and have done most of one side. I really have to tackle the recaulking soon. - tonyj54ExplorerWelded the angle iron for the back tie-downs on to the truck frame. Will work on the front this weekend, I think. Anniversary on Thursday, so I'll probably leave it alone for a day or so.
- brholtExplorer IIUnloaded it for the first time and reloaded it for the second time. Went amazingly well. Took about 20 minutes, mainly getting a feel for the small changes in direction to get it straight and even in the pickup bed.
Amaze how much "get up and go" there is without the camper. Felt like a sports car after 6 months driving with the camper on it. - _DJ_1Explorer II

Well I have finally completed the project that I posted the drawings on a couple of months ago.
First I replaced the tow hooks with two new modified receivers.
Second, I built the rack to hold a generator and its box.

Finally I built the aluminum box, mount of the generator with a fan for pressurizing the box and keep it cool.
The box is completely lined with "B Quiet Insulation".
The unit runs very quiet and I'm getting ready for my first five day run into the wilderness.
At this time I have a waterproof plug (yellow) to hook up to the camper when I am parked.
When I return I will run the powerline back through the truck and up to the camper.

Sweet!!! :C - Finished stocking the camper after a quick trip to the grocery store. Also refilled with fresh water so we're ready for morning departure on trip back home from our summer in Alaska.
