Swapped out my FWC Battery Bank today.
After 5 years, and more than 1,825 cycles, it was time to swap out my GC2 Battery Bank 2. The winters and many nights below zero certainly take a toll on them. This winter and 2013, was extremely hard and cold. As does the extreme heat these batteries exist in, as they store my daily solar harvest. So, after a few weeks in Death Valley, out with the old and in with some equally shiny and fresh batteries. I expect another good 5 years, if not more cycles. Maybe 2,000 cycles?

My new set of Interstate 6v GCS FWC Batteries, installed into my Bank 2 Coffin.
After a bit of time getting everything hooked up to my two charge controllers, 2 Buss Blade Fusses and my 2,000 PSW Inverter. Fired up the first time, not a hitch.
10 new batteries!!! There goes the new bike!! - joe123ExplorerInstalled new bumper and bracket for swing away steps. I then installed a new charging station with two usb charging ports and one cigarette lighter charging point. Getting ready to go camping for a few days on Vancouver island most likely someplace close like Englishman river falls.
- WVbassmistressExplorerThis past weekend I sewed new valance to go around the entire camper. The old one was trashed when we (actually HE) rebuilt the top.

- WNYBobExplorerI use a remote temp gauge in my home to monitor the camper inside temp. This would be a good idea especially if you are using a space heater. A cheap one from Wal-Mart (under $10).
- joe123Explorerstarted to build a new bumper stair connection for my bigfoot camper , based on Mr. beagle's design.
- mbloofExplorerI noticed the outside temp was dipping close to freezing so I went out and plugged in the ceramic heater and made sure one roof vent was cracked.
While I was out there I installed a new sink stream/spray attachment. The old one did not have a wide enough spray - we really like the wide spray for rinsing dishes. - Returned home with it at 8:30pm and did a partial winterize on it at 9pm tonight.
